Youth Group

The Youth Group has a long and rich history at the 10:30 Catholic Community. We meet twice a month, on the first and third Sundays from 5:00 to 7:00 pm in our newly renovated youth room. The group is open to youth who range in age from 7th grade to seniors in high school. The majority of the group is comprised of Catholics, but that is not a requirement for joining, and the group has kids of other faiths as well. It is a highly spirited and close knit group, but one that is very welcoming of new members.

The 10:30 Catholic Community Youth Group is committed to community service. At Thanksgiving we collect food for Metro CareRing. At Christmas we carol at a local nursing home. Every year at Christmas we try to think of others less fortunate than ourselves. Some of our past projects have included adopting two families through Catholic Charities and buying them all of their Christmas gifts, and making stockings for 40 women at various shelters. We will also be doing other volunteering during the year, such as making meals at a woman's shelter.

The Youth group's year runs from late August until early June, and in addition to our regular meetings, has the following activities throughout the year:

     * Our "kick-off" breakfast.
     * Our Youth Masses.
     * Our Fall Weekend Retreat at YMCA Snow Mountain Ranch .
     * Our Christmas party.
     * Our two fundraisers (Pancake Breakfast and Spaghetti Dinner).
     * Our overnight lock-in at the church.
     * Our Senior Send-Off BBQ and Mass.

If you are a prospective member of our group or if you just want more information, please email the Youth Group Leader at youthinfo@1030catholic.org
